At our farm, we’ve always been committed to providing pasture-raised, non-GMO turkeys for your Thanksgiving table. Raising birds with care, allowing them to roam and forage, and practicing sustainable agriculture is at the heart of what we do. Unfortunately, this year we faced an unexpected challenge—a disease that reduced our flock. While we still have some turkeys to offer, we felt we needed more to meet our community needs.
Small farms, like ours, can’t always provide every product exactly when it’s needed. That’s the reality of working with the land and livestock in natural and human scale ways. But rather than leave our community without the quality and healthy choice you’ve come to expect, we’ve partnered with Joe’s Farm in Michigan. I have worked with Joe for the last 3 years as a board member of the American Pastured Poultry Producers Association board (you read it right - APPPA). APPPA advocates for the viability of ethical pastured poultry production that connects farmers, processors, and consumers in mutually beneficial communities. It’s no accident that we found a solution through APPPA.
Joe’s commitment to excellence and land stewardship is second to none! Joe’s Farm shares our same principles of movement-based, pasture-raised farming and non-GMO feed. By working together, we’re able to maintain a consistent supply without sacrificing our commitment to regenerative, ethical farming practices.
